US Customs Documentation Updates for Chinese Imports

US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has introduced updated documentation requirements for commercial shipments from China, effective mid-2026. These changes affect all B2B importers, particularly those in cosmetics, supplements, and electronics sectors.

Importers must now submit enhanced commercial invoices including:

  • Manufacturer-level pricing details for anti-dumping verification
  • Country of origin certification for each component in assembled goods
  • Expanded wood packaging treatment declarations (ISPM-15)

“The documentation bar is rising. Working with a logistics partner that pre-validates paperwork saves an average of 3-5 days per shipment.”
